What WSAFE Plans

Volunteers

WSAFE is in need of gathering volunteers who want to help with events, committees or fundraising.  We need people who just want to help with simple tasks like networking or planning single events & people who want to be apart of everyday activities. Your time is important and matters.

Fundraising

WSAFE is working on fundraising efforts currently. We need money and resources so that we can start directing to students and families. Any money donations or items for fundraising purposes like gift cards or prizes to offer at fundraisers would greatly be appreciated. We have a PO Box 586 at Washougal post office and  a PayPal account. We are 501c Approved so recipes for donations can be offered.

Outreach

WSAFE is looking into events we can attend to spread the word about WSAFE. We want to know what needs and places we can assist. Many of our referrals will come from FCRC and The Outpost but we don’t want any needs gaps in our community. Please let us know if you see a need or want to nominate a family.

FCRC- Family Community Resource Center

Located- Hathaway School

Our Partners at Washougal School District FCRC are doing phenomenal work supporting students with the resources they have available. Assisting in food, clothing and school supply needs. These ladies see many needs beyond their reach or available resources. These needs sparked the start of W.S.A.F.E. to help meet those community necessities.

The Outpost

Located- 2204 NE Birch St, Camas, WA 98607

The Outpost is a partnership between ministries, churches, community, and other organizations in order to meet needs and provide services for people. They are striving to become a community center for our local community. This building is the meeting home base for WSAFE.

Programs We Plan to Offer

Student Grants

We want students to participate in a wide rage of activities regardless of financially ability. We want to cover the cost of after school programs not only offered by the school but other locations as well.

Transportation Assistance

Gas prices on the rise getting from place to place in increasingly harder. We don’t want students unable to participate because of transportation needs. We hope to set up a network of on call volunteer car pools for school events. We hope to offer Gas Gift cards available at the FCRC.

Emergency Funding

There are so many needs a family comes across that cant be predicted or planned on. Fire evacuations, weather emergencies, even Covid 19 created a new and unforeseen circumstance. We hope to step in and offer fast services or funding for such cases that through other programs require lengthy paper work and processing times

Culture Night/ Award Ceremony

We hope to Host events for students to participate in that fund and support WSAFE. By making WSAFE connected to students direct support and participation we hope to remove the stigma students feel for asking for help/ assistance. If students feel ownership of available funding we hope they will more likely utilize WSAFE to it’s full benefits.
